Foo-Fur aka Otter or Sir Otter Foo-fur Bunny is making some strange sounds tonight.
I found a great sound reference but cannot find a match. The closest one would be a very slow, mellow low pitch ‘whining’.
he is making a low, slow constant squeaking bark of sorts. Could he be wanting female companionship?I have not yet visited a vet in the SF East Bay area that will neuter my guinea pig. I was holding out untill I get a companion which tonight I decided will be named ‘Honey Bunches of Oats’.

Happy Easter ‘Bunny’!

Our Guinea pig was about $39.00 which is amazing for the amount of great playtime and fond memories we have had with him. My favorite part of the night is cuddling with the little cutie and being in our early 30’s in a bad economy we are openly cheesy and doting parents who go by mommy and daddy and joke that he is preparing us for parenthood. Sometimes he yelps a bit when we get him out but he has a way of sitting on our chest and getting comfortable right by our ears and giving kisses with his whiskers.
About his recent food likes / dislikes and nutrition. We decided the liquid vitamin C was not effective from the research I have done. Ours is a spoiled guinea piggy, my little guy gets fresh veggies every day which provide all the vitamin C he needs. As his tastes have matured celery is his very favorite snack. Just as a Guinea pig is a great first pet and teaches kids about the routine of feeding and caring as well as the cycle of life (as they enjoy around a five year life) we have found our piggy is a source of comfort for his grandma who suffers dementia. The little pets are an easy thing to be positive around and chat about. She lovingly calls him “the little guy” and takes much interest in how he is doing day to day. Otter also loves Kaytee’s Honey Treat logs for guinea pigs and we feel good about them wearing those ever growing teeth down. Happy Easter! As one of my pet names for him is ‘bunny’ he feels like a special part of this day.

How cold is too cold for my guinea pig?

I have been freezing my butt off every night and I live in a moderate climate, East Bay, CA. Is my guinea pig cozy while I am dying to use the space heater and forget about last months’ electric bill? He is inside with us of course but in an area of the house that gets no heat right now.

Can I over feed my piggie?

Loving carrot slivers and romaine, my piggy seems to be in a post thanksgiving tryptophene coma after eating. I have had little luck with broccoli, kale, and peppers, although he’s a little more than partial to celery, but those are negative calories and barely nutritious right? Can you overfeed a guinea pig things like romaine, as I’ve given him up to a human side salad proportion of romaine before? Also, aside from carrots, what other vitamin C rich veggies are out there that piggies are partial to?

Loving ‘Otter’ day 4

This little guy likes carrots and celery and warming up to being pet held and hand fed. I wonder is the initial skittish behavior is from bad handling during breeding or a pet store employee or just their nature. I am having a problem with the water bottle it is in the cage but I want to get him comfortable roaming in and out of the cage and playpen on his own.

The mythical magical and sensitive pet as amazing benefits and makes a wonderful companion. I wanted to provide a guide and social networking site for other owners in California. I have lost one piggy named Joomla at around 11 weeks old she died. This site is dedicated to her and the love and care for Guinea Pigs.
I already have Otter a big healthy size male guinea and I hope to blog with other owners and share my experience with him here. I invite other lovers of their guinea pigs to share their pictures, ask questions or give opinions here at Guineapiglove.com
